Workshop Description

Demystified and Simplified - The Neuroscience Behind Behavioral Issues

Are you tired of your lesson plans being derailed? Do you find that sometimes your go-to strategies to help with this just don’t work? Here’s your chance to truly understand how 50+ years of neuroscience can help. You’ll walk away refreshed with new ideas, and with practical tools you can immediately use, even in the most difficult situations. Join us for this live, in person course!

Agenda Includes:

Science and Foundations – You’ll learn specifically what neuroscience shows us around what is behind behavior issues, and what is happening in the brains and bodies of students who struggle. You’ll also learn specific approaches to identify learning modalities and lagging skills of these students, so you can tailor an approach that leads to less behavior issues and more learning. You will also learn about successful outcomes at other schools and environments, using this approach. This section is a mix of lecture and video content, with some fun simple exercises along the way.

Three Proven Approaches – After understanding the basis for this work, we’ll walk through three plans – new approaches you can immediately begin to use. You’ll learn when to best apply each one. This will include sharing assessment tools, worksheets, and case studies that you can immediately use in your classroom/school.

Practical Examples and Fine Tuning – To help solidify the new learning, we’ll role play a few common situations and talk through how you can approach them using these new approaches you just learned. We’ll give you suggestions for next steps you can take when you return to your school.

After this course, you’ll have three new approaches you can immediately use to tackle any disruptive behavior you may experience in the classroom. You’ll also have several new tools to help you more easily approach and resolve these issues, and turn your students into problem-solving masters.
