The Bush School is in search of an individual to join our Facilities team as the School Transportation Fleet Coordinator. We are seeking a candidate who will support the school’s mission of diversity and inclusion and who has a background that displays and proves an understanding of cultural fluency.

This position reports to the Director of Facilities and works a ten (10) month Academic Year schedule. As a member of the Facilities team, this position is responsible for supporting the fleet maintenance, transportation coordination, driver training and parking enforcement needs of the school.

While other duties may be assigned, a qualified candidate will be able to manage the key responsibilities and tasks listed below:

  • Inspect the school’s fleet and perform minor fleet maintenance, e.g. check and maintain all vehicle fluid levels, verify vehicle lights are operable, confirm vehicles are sufficiently fueled and maintain a clean fleet
  • Coordinate and schedule fleet maintenance with school’s outside vendor
  • Plan, schedule and administer all bi-annual in-service van/bus driver training
  • Create and maintain driver training records for the school
  • Manage traffic at school drop-off and pick-up times, as well as special events
  • Schedule Facilities’ staff to assist with special events or daily needs, as needed

Successful candidates will have:

  • Experience with traffic control or related industry: three years required and five years preferred
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and vehicle repair industry standards
  • Familiar with Federal, State and local laws and regulations that govern driver training, rules of the road, traffic management, and related subject areas
  • Experience developing and providing driver training education
  • Able to communicate in a timely, friendly and professional manner via phone, email and in-person
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Google Docs and Internet Use
  • Dedicated work ethic, organized and punctual
  • Experience working within a school environment preferred
