Lego Robotics Teacher (Summer School)
|School Name||Lakeside School|
|City, State||Seattle, WA|
Are you looking for a stimulating summer teaching opportunity—one that will allow you to be part of a growing program, teach a dynamic and exceptional curriculum, work with other talented educators, and work on a beautiful campus that is rich in history and technology?
Lakeside School’s Summer School Programs is currently recruiting for a Lego Robotics teacher for the Investigative Learning Camp, an academic summer camp designed for students entering grades 5-8. In this course, students work in teams to build and program LEGO Mindstorms robots. These robots will use motors and sensors to drive around the room, navigate obstacles, and compete in a tournament at the end of the week. All courses in the ILC are project-based and do not assume students have any previous knowledge of the subject matter. No homework is assigned. The position will be part time. This position runs July 13 – July 17 and July 27- July 31. Each class runs twice per day, 8:30 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. There will be a mandatory orientation meeting on Thursday, July 2.

The stipend for this position is $500/class per week, for a maximum of $2,000. Lunch is included. The course will only run if enough students register. Enrollment will remain open until June 1. If the number of students enrolled is too small on June 1, the course will not run, and, therefore, the stipend will not be paid.
