|City, State||Seattle, WA|
Are you looking for a stimulating summer teaching opportunity—one that will allow you to be part of a growing program, teach a dynamic and exceptional curriculum, work with other talented educators, and work on a beautiful campus that is rich in history and technology?
Lakeside School’s Summer School Programs is currently recruiting for a Computer Science I teacher. This course is an introduction to how computers work and how to write software. Students will learn some basics of programming in the Python language by writing a series of programs defined by their instructor. They will also have the opportunity to follow their own interests and pursue more complex projects that may require them to learn new, more advanced programming techniques. This is a graded course, and students will earn one half year of credit (semester) for the course. There will be about three hours of homework assigned each day. The position will be part time. The class will run June 22 – July 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with one hour of designated office hours every afternoon. There will also be a mandatory orientation on Thursday, June 18.
