Maintenance Technician Seattle, WA

Full Time: Monday – Friday, 1:00 pm – 9:30 pm

Salary based on experience

The Bush School is in search of an individual to join our Facilities team as a Maintenance Technician. We are seeking a candidate who will support the school’s mission of diversity and inclusion and who has a background that displays and proves an understanding of cultural fluency.

While other duties may be assigned, a successful candidate will be able to manage the key responsibilities and tasks listed below:

  • Preventative maintenance on equipment and HVAC systems;
  • Basic electrical tasks;
  • Plumbing;
  • Painting;
  • Event set-up and break-down;
  • Basic carpentry, e.g. ceiling tile/grid work, sheetrock;
  • Traffic control, as assigned in the afternoon, as well as, assistance with evening and special events;
  • Other general maintenance duties on campus, as needed.

Successful candidates will have the following:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma
  • Able to communicate (verbally and in writing) effectively, timely, and understandably
  • Able to comprehend written and verbal instructions/directions

Skills in the use of technology: including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite

  • Current Certification in CPR/First Aid
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License
  • Work independently and in a team environment
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
  • Have strong organizational skills and detail oriented approach to responsibilities, e.g. projects, tasks
  • Collaborate with Facilities team members effectively
  • Communicate well with a very diverse community
