We invite you to join us at SAAS as part of a five-person administrative team, working closely with the Dean of Students Grades 11-12, Assistant Head of School, the Head of Upper School, and Assistant Head. Successful candidates should possess 5 - 7 years of previous teaching and/or administration experience in an upper school setting including experience addressing student behavior. This position at SAAS, which entails leadership, planning, and guidance in your respective area, is considered a year round, 12 months per year position.

As an Upper School Dean of Students, you will:

  • Oversee student life and act as the point person to manage and coordinate student life activities including Upper School meetings, class meetings, and class retreats;
  • Work with faculty and staff to help facilitate student-related conflicts and disciplinary issues, as well as long-term planning for academic and behavioral issues;
  • Facilitate consistent communication with parents, specifically around student issues, plans, and progress;
  • Liaise with attendance office and front desk personnel to track upper school student attendance and address patterns of concern;
  • Support the community in conversations about upholding the school’s core values and help students align their actions to those values;
  • Lead evening parent meetings in conjunction with the US Division team;
  • Oversee the student leadership (ASB) and all associated student life activities;
  • Supervise the Upper School Coordinator Team and manage Student Life Clubs and Club Fairs; and
  • Teach and/or coach as necessary.
