JOB OVERVIEW:

Villa Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, engaging and student-centered Middle School Math Teacher to join our dynamic faculty. Villa boasts a 30-acre campus with trails to the waterfront, a garden and a greenhouse. Faculty enjoy professional development support, opportunities for emerging leaders and the chance to shape and grow our dynamic program!

This position includes 6th through 8th grade math classes, a middle school advisory section and other potential assignments, based on the applicants skillset and passion.

A knowledge and appreciation of middle school students and understanding of their learning and development is a must. The ability to partner with colleagues and families is key. Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to plan, organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously are desired qualities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree required;
  • Strong knowledge of mathematics content, pedagogy, technology and integration;
  • Experience with effective student management and positive relationship building practices;
  • Appreciation and enjoyment of middle school students and understanding of their learning and development;
  • Knowledge and application of differentiated instruction;
