The Perkins School is in search of a dynamic, engaging, collaborative educator for our elementary school. This is a support position, working throughout the school, and may include teaching some classes, assisting, and tutoring. The position may vary as the year goes on, but it will never be boring!

Candidates must have the following:

  • Washington State Certification or other formal teacher training
  • Experience teaching elementary age children in a classroom setting
  • An understanding of curriculum development
  • Strong writing skills

Candidates should also have the following characteristics:

  • A self starter that has ideas for engaging students in a dynamic, experiential curriculum
  • Deeply well-liked by students and their parents
  • Collaborate exceptionally well in team teaching situations
  • Happy, outgoing and full of energy
  • Enjoy all aspects of working with elementary age children

Responsibilities may include:

  • Lead activities with multi-age classes
  • Substitute in any classroom
  • Support teachers as needed
  • Attend weekly staff meetings and work with teachers from across the school
  • Create an inviting classroom environment and dynamic hallway displays
  • Assist in the kindergarten classroom
  • Recess and lunch duty
  • Work with remote and in-person students
