We are IMMEDIATELY seeking a Fourth Grade Math and Science teacher for in-person and remote instruction. Under minimal supervision, you will provide an optimal math and science classroom learning environment for Fourth Grade students. You will support students, parents, and other community members in realizing our Guiding Principles and will abide by our Framework for Professional Standards

Job Summary:

Under minimal supervision, provides an optimal Math and Science and Homeroom classroom learning environment for Fourth Grade students and supports students, parents, and other community members in realizing our Guiding Principles. Abides by our Framework for Professional Standards.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Implements instruction in a Hybrid learning environment, with both in-person and remote students.
  • Develops and implements curriculum and unit plans
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of teaching practices and a commitment to teaching within a caring, highly academic environment
  • Works with families and communicates in a clear and supportive manner
  • Stays abreast of current educational research and best practices
  • Promotes field of Math and Science education within school community by creating school events, participating in interdisciplinary projects, developing field trips, and building connections with local communities, including planning and going on an overnight trip
  • Serves as an advisor specifically for a homeroom class and other students as needed
  • Works with the Fourth Grade team to foster academic, social/emotional, and cognitive growth for students


  • Develops positive, collegial relations with co-workers with a regard for the dignity and social/emotional wellbeing of others and supports community decision-making processes
  • Vigorously engages in his/her own professional development
  • Establishes and cultivates community relations by maintaining open and candid dialogue with all of the school’s constituencies
  • Establishes and communicates to parents and students clear expectations for classroom and extra-curricular operational processes and procedures (i.e., grading/reporting procedures, attendance policies, homework and class work expectations, student behavior, etc.)
  • Observes laws and the school’s policies, procedures and regulations which have application to and implication for the professional’s responsibilities
  • Is familiar with and complies with all policies and regulations as put forth in the school’s documents
  • Since safety and security are everyone’s responsibility, takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, faculty, staff, equipment, materials and facilities
  • Participates in Elementary and Middle School Division and planning meetings
  • Participates in Committees as required/desired
  • Helps with recess and lunch duties as is needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Education & Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree, with an emphasis in elementary education or related areas from a four-year college or university required
  • Master’s Degree in elementary education or related areas preferred
  • 3+ years of combined teaching experience required
  • Experience in teaching Math and Science 1 or higher level courses at Elementary School

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of current trends and research in learning and assessment
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the children and program
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Ability to work collaboratively in team situation
  • Ability to work efficiently in a Microsoft Windows environment using Microsoft Office, master common automated systems for record keeping, and learn new technology
  • Ability to work and communicate well with all levels of faculty and staff
  • Ability to work and communicate well with students and their parents
  • Some travel required (field trips)
