FAIS seeks a full time Maternelle Division Head to begin fall of school year 2021-2022. The primary role for this position is to support the mission of the school by promoting and developing a culture of open-mindedness, international mindedness, integrity, collaboration and inquiry among faculty, staff, parents, and students. This person will be responsible for faculty and staff for grades TPS - Kindergarten and oversees the Extracurricular Programs Department by designing, implementing and evaluating all after school activities.



Essential Duties:

  • Ensure the quality of the student and family experience in our French Immersion Early Childhood Program
  • Develop, implement, and review our academic and extracurricular preschool program, including curriculum, instruction, and assessment
  • Recruit, supervise, and ensure the professional growth of the preschool faculty and staff
  • Collaborate with Lower School and Middle School Division Heads to ensure vertical alignment between Cycles and to facilitate student and family transition between divisions
  • Serves as school liaison with the Oregon Early Learning Division. Coordinate education and procedures necessary to comply with OELD regulations
  • Foster effective relationships with parents/guardians, through orientation, education, and cultivation activities as well as individual support; and working in partnership with the Parent Liaison Committee
  • Collaborate with the Director of Admissions to recruit and enroll a qualified student body
  • Collaborate with members of Leadership Team to support the school’s strategic plan, programs and initiatives, including fundraising and parent engagement programs
  • Supervise the design, implementation, and evaluation of FASCA, PM Classes, Lunch and Recess Supervision, Athletics, ACE/ARTS Weeks, Summer Programs, and FAIS Plus.
  • Manage, create, and oversee all aspects of the division’s operating and capital budgets
  • Execute and oversee the School’s strategic plan goals and accreditation recommendations

Minimum Requirements: Experience in international or independent School education and in French Education/Education Nationale. A bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field. A demonstrated understanding of Early Childhood Education and developmentally appropriate practice. Excellent written and oral communication (both in French and English).

Compensation: Annual salary commensurate with experience and comes with a comprehensive benefits package.
