SEATTLE ACADEMY is a dynamic community that challenges students to question, imagine, and create in order to contribute boldly to a changing world. We are seeking a Database Associate to join our development team. SAAS serves 1,050 students in grades 6-12 and raises over $3M annually from over 1,000 donors. In addition, the school is engaged in two major gifts initiatives and is preparing for a large upcoming capital campaign.

The Development Database Associate is responsible for supporting the day-to-day management of the Development database and executing a migration to a new database platform. This person is a member of a development team that includes the Director of Development, Director of Annual Giving, two Major Gift Directors, Alumni Relations Associate, and a Database Manager.


This position will partner with the Development Database Manager to ensure data integrity and prepare for and execute a shift to a new database. We seek a collaborative technology professional with experience in managing and manipulating data. In addition, this role will provide the Development Team with regular development reports and giving analytics to help the school meet fundraising goals and strategically engage members of our community.


  • Develop and complete a weekly report tracking progress toward key financial and participation goals
  • Prepare segmented donor analytics and constituent lists for solicitation
  • Produce gift acknowledgement letters and pledge reminder letters daily
  • Partner with Marketing and Communications to support technical database aspects of the annual SAAS in the City fundraising event, including ticketing, raffle sales, and paddle raise contributions
  • Serve as the team lead in generating regular and ad hoc reports
  • Support the Database Manager in ensuring data integrity during data entry and gift processing


  • Manage the Development database migration process in partnership with the Chief Financial Officer and Registrar who will oversee a similar database migration
  • Partner with the Database Manager to scrub existing records housed in Senior Systems in preparation for migration
  • Provide the development team with training and support


  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable database administrator coursework
  • Articulate and collaborative demeanor
  • Strong database management and excel skills and experience
  • Extremely high attention to detail; strong organizational skills
  • Solid understanding of development work and related data needs
  • Ability to keep sensitive information confidential
  • Ability to work independently or as a member of a team
