ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION

INSTRUCTIONAL AIDE

Our Mission is to inspire and develop courageous leaders who think independently, work collaboratively, learn joyfully, and champion change.

We seek two part-time instructional aides (30 hours/week) to start October 4, 2021. The instructional aide will support teachers and students in the classroom, work with students in small groups, and provide intervention support during study periods and after-school tutoring sessions. We seek employees who are collaborative, flexible, and love learning and doing alongside middle school girls and gender nonconforming students.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide classroom support to students and teachers.
  • Implement instructional supports, assess student progress, and execute other tasks as needed by students and teachers in a face-to-face school setting (and virtually, if necessary).
  • Participate in training sessions to effectively deliver designated instructional models and strategies in readiness, reading, mathematics, and/or writing skills to students.
  • Understand and acclimate to the various teachers’ routines to provide optimal classroom support.
  • Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning of material or skills introduced by the teacher.
  • Monitor and maintain documentation and records of students’ progress.
  • Assist with parent/guardian communication, and consult with the student’s academic team (advisor, teachers, Dean of Student Life, Learning Specialist, and Assistant Head of School).
  • Support and document students’ growth and progress towards academic goals.
  • Support students during "Scholars Club" (the after school academic support center).
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and safe academic learning environment for students.
  • Classroom support and coverage as needed.
  • Actively engage around the larger mission of the school.
  • Other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or Higher
  • Experience working with students in a school setting
  • A high level of cultural competence, and sensitivity to the needs of working with middle school-aged girls and gender nonconforming students
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite and virtual meeting programs (Zoom, etc.)
  • Demonstration of growth mindset: willing to learn and grow around areas of job description and school mission
  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude towards students, staff and faculty, parents/guardians, and others

Compensation:

Competitive hourly rate ($16-$18 per hour) and benefit package commensurate with experience.
