Part-Time Visual Content Creator

General Summary:

The Visual Content Creator is responsible for capturing compelling visual elements, including video and photography that highlight The Overlake School, its students, and overall community to the benefit of increased engagement among current and future families, faculty, and staff. They will work as a member of the Communications Department but engage with all aspects of the school community, in particular the co-curricular program. This part-time position is a Monday-Friday 2:30-6:30pm schedule, with pro-rated benefits. You must include portfolio link, demo reel or any examples of work when you apply. Any submission without a demo reel will not be considered.

Primary Duties:

  • 1.An excellent storyteller who captures the right message with the right visuals, including ability to produce complete videos and capture still images.
  1. Pitch ideas for use on our website and social media channels.
  2. Ability to adapt to each setting they encounter, making sure to not hinder the action taking place, but rather be a “fly on the wall” to capture the essence.
  3. Ability to see and capture something of interest in every assignment undertaken.
  4. Attend and document assignments “off campus” of The Overlake School

Other Duties:

  1. Assist the communications team with uploading and editing digital assets to be stored in the school’s digital asset management system.
  2. Be an ambassador for the school’s communication channels, especially when interacting with parents and students.
  • 3.Other duties as assigned by the Dir. of Communications and Marketing.

Reporting Relationships:

Reports to the Director of Communications and Marketing

No supervisory responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications:

1.1+ year experience in video production/video editing. Information content and YouTube experience preferred.

2.Experience with Adobe Premiere.

3.1+ year experience in capturing still photography for professional purposes.

4.Experience with photoshop.

5.Strong organizational skills with experience working with multiple projects happening at once.

6.Curiosity about learning new technologies and digital platforms.

7.High School diploma with 1-year relevant experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

8.Valid driver’s license
