Responsibilities: Under direct supervision from the of the Facilities & Transportation Manager, you will drive a bus for a local, before & after school route supporting on-campus academic days and work as a year-round member of the Facilities Team. Facilities work may include custodial, grounds and building maintenance.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Before and after school driving of a shuttle bus with a capacity up to 40 passengers.
  • Supporting the Facilities Team with a broad scope of maintenance functions. These functions may include but are not limited to tasks associated with basic landscaping, grounds and building maintenance including both interior and exterior work across all four seasons.
  • Supporting the Facilities Team with a broad scope of custodial functions. These functions may include but are not limited to tasks associated with cleaning and disinfecting various interior and exterior areas, restocking of supplies, trash/recycling/compost removal, snow removal, moving of furniture, locking and unlocking of buildings in accordance with Forest Ridge’s security policies.
  • Following and maintaining safety procedures while ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local laws or regulations including proper and safe use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and use of chemical cleaning or disinfecting agents in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and safety data sheets (SDS).


  • Must have a valid Washington State Driver’s License with a minimum of a Class B Commercial Driver’s License with a Passenger Endorsement and air brakes restrictions removed. A School Bus Endorsement also qualifies for this purpose and is acceptable in place of the Passenger Endorsement.
  • Possess ability to sit, stand or walk more than eight hours per day; demonstrate ability to crawl, kneel, squat, bend, reach, stoop; push, pull and lift objects weighing up to fifty pounds.
  • Demonstrate ability to carry, climb and utilize a ladder up to eight feet tall.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills including the ability to read, write and count; ability to use a laptop or personal computer with basic abilities to operate Microsoft and other software, ability to operate a mobile phone.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks and adapting to changing needs.
  • Two years minimum verifiable experience driving high-capacity passenger vehicles.
  • Ability to pass a background check and deliver verifiable professional references.

Salary/Benefits: Forest Ridge School of the Sacred Heart is committed to attracting and retaining outstanding employees through a competitive compensation and benefits package including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 403(b) plan, supplemental benefits and tuition remission. Driving functions will be compensated at a wage differential of $70.00 per trip. A trip is considered a single route leaving the defined destination, performing the necessary stop(s), and ending at the defined destination. Trips are designed to not exceed more than one hour (barring a traffic incident) and a standard school day contains two trips for a total daily driving compensation of $140.00 if driving both before and after school trips. Additionally, the position pays $20.00 - $25.00, depending on experience, per hour for all Facilities Team associated work. This is a full-time, year-round position, and the applicant should expect to earn $62,840 - $72,355 per year for the combined driving and facilities work functions.
