Description

The Northwest School is a college-preparatory, co-educational independent school near the heart of downtown Seattle. We offer a rich and challenging program to roughly 500 students in grades 6 through 12, including 80 international students, many of whom live in our campus dormitory. The Northwest School seeks Residential Advisors who will work in our dormitory on various shifts: day, evening, and overnight. This is not a live-in position.


Essential Functions Include:

Supervise dormitory residents

Assist in providing an environment that's safe, friendly and comfortable

Prepare students for each day's activities through informational sessions

Work closely, cooperatively and amicably with all faculty and students

Monitor and ensure appropriate student behavior

Attend all staff training sessions and meetings as directed

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

All candidates must demonstrate a commitment to the school’s mission, values, and philosophy, especially related to diversity and environmental stewardship.

An associate's degree and one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of skills and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position are required.

Strong communication and leadership skills.


Ability to work both independently and as a productive member of a team.


Valid Driver License, a good driving record if driving students.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a student residential setting.
Experience working with international students.

Compensation:

Salary is highly competitive with top independent schools in the region and commensurate with education and experience.
