Our summer program is currently recruiting for an Office Assistant for the Summer School Programs for 2019. Lakeside Summer School offers for-credit and skill-building courses for students entering grades 9-12. This is a part-time position. The Office Assistant works from June 18 - August 5, 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

This position reports to the Director of Summer School Programs and is responsible for assisting the Operations Manager in providing administrative support for the six-week Summer School program. Responsibilities include:

  1. Distribute and collect attendance for Upper School classes and the Investigative Learning Camp.
  2. Supervise laptop check-out and check-in process.
  3. Manage Summer School Programs social media accounts.
  4. Assist Summer School Operations Manager with fielding parent, teacher, and student inquiries when they enter the Summer School office.
  5. Other duties as assigned by the Summer School Operations Manager or Director of Summer School Programs.

Requirements and Qualifications
  1. A bachelor's degree.
  2. Knowledge of Lakeside's academic program and standards of excellence.
  3. Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and Facebook; ability to learn new software systems.
  4. Strong organizational skills and exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  5. A great sense of humor.
  6. The ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  7. Cultural awareness, including knowledge of themselves and the cultural lenses they bring to interactions and an ability to communicate with people from cultures different than their own.
  8. Candidates must satisfactorily complete two criminal background checks.
