Lakeside School, an independent 5-12 coeducational day school located in North Seattle is currently recruiting for an Upper School Girls Ultimate Frisbee Assistant Coach for the Spring 2019 season. The season begins in March and concludes at the latest in mid- May.

Responsibilities
The Upper School Co-ed Ultimate Frisbee Assistant Coach will report to the Ultimate Frisbee program coordinator and the program director at the Upper School. Specific responsibilities include:

  1. Availability at least two days a week for afternoon practices (3:30 - 5:30), and for games;
  2. Help plan and run practices;
  3. Teach skills and strongly emphasize the importance of spirit of the game;
  4. Coach games and record scores;
  5. Attend two-day Seattle Invite tournament in May;
  6. Set a positive example for players;
  7. Promotion of balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student-athletes.
Requirements and Qualifications
  1. Successful candidates must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid Washington State driver’s license, and be available for all practices and competitions.
  2. Experience coaching Ultimate Frisbee at the club, middle school, high school or college level is required.
  3. Demonstration of cultural awareness, including knowledge of themselves and the culture lenses they bring to interactions.
  4. An understanding of different perspectives, the ability to interact respectfully with cultures other than their own, and ability to cultivate meaningful relationships with people who have different cultural frameworks.
  5. Candidates must satisfactorily complete two criminal background checks and possess (or obtain) a current First Aid and CPR certification prior to the start of their season.
  6. complete a sexual harassment training.
Compensation
We offer a stipend schedule that compares favorably with peer schools and clubs both locally and nationally. Coaching stipends are paid in monthly installments during the primary competition seasons.
