Position Overview: duties & responsibilities

The All School Arts & Design Coordinator:

  • provides leadership for arts and design programming and supports arts and design faculty throughout the school, including choral and instrumental music, the school’s private lessons program, studio art, and design;
  • coordinates and oversees the International Baccalaureate Design program and the school’s design resources and manages the new Idea Lab in the Upper School for Boys;
  • teaches a year-long, project-based Grade 9 Design Course in the Upper School for Boys which may build on the current course’s focus on architecture and design;
  • manages the development, production, and publication of the All School Yearbook;
  • fulfills other duties as assigned and reports to the Assistant Head for Academic Affairs.

Qualifications

The All School Arts & Design Coordinator

  • holds a BA in Design or a related field;
  • has at least 3 years experience as a teacher and is familiar with independent schools;
  • demonstrates familiarity with the International Baccalaureate and its programs and with trends in design and arts education;
  • demonstrates enthusiasm for collaboration with colleagues in various arts and design disciplines and excellent organizational and communication skills;
  • and is eligible to work in the United States.
