Position Title: Upper School Musical Director
Timeline: 4 Months (One season production; November 2019-February 2020)
Department: Upper School
Reports to: Upper School Head
The music director works in close collaboration with the director, and technical director of the Upper School theater program. The musical director oversees all aspects of the music in the production including casting and rehearsing. The collaboration with colleagues requires continuous consultation throughout the rehearsal process. In addition, the music director is responsible for editing tracks (provided by ROCS-stage tracks) and running tracks during rehearsals and performances. The music director should have enough functional piano ability to teach individual parts. The position requires that the director be available from 3:30-5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, starting the second week of November (when casting occurs) and through the performances on February 28, 29 and March 6, 8.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
MFA in a music-related field or MA or MEd.in an education-related discipline, alongside a BA in music is preferred. Demonstrated experience with adolescents or young adults also preferred. Teaching experience is required.
