Villa Academy is seeking a dynamic, knowledgeable full time Early Childhood Teacher. Villa Preschool serves students who are preparing for Kindergarten. Villa Academy’s Department of Early Learning licensed preschool program consists of four preschool classrooms (ages 3-5), each staffed with a teacher and instructional assistant.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree, preferably in Early Childhood Education
  • Current Washington state teaching certificate (or in process)
  • Relevant teaching experience in an accredited school
  • Practicing Catholic preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Commitment to the mission, vision and values of Villa Academy
  • Love of young learner!
  • Able to understand, articulate, and put into practice current developmentally appropriate practices in Early Childhood education
  • Familiarity with NAEYC Standards, Washington State Early Learning and Development Guidelines, and the Early Achievers program
  • Understand and foster the intention of the purpose of play, STEAM, and Project Based Learning
  • Desire and enthusiasm for making Villa’s outdoor spaces an integral part of the preschool curriculum
  • Familiarity with Second Step and Handwriting without Tears considered a plus!
  • Able to use instructional technology effectively including interactive whiteboards, document cameras, Google docs, and teacher web pages
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Experience creating and sustaining effective parent partnerships
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Desire to be part of a Catholic faith community and to joyfully share faith with young learners
  • Ability to perform the job responsibilities of this position
