Villa Academy is seeking applicants who are passionate and skilled in teaching Music to young learners. Students in Grades K-5 have music class twice a week for 30 minutes per class. In addition to classroom music instruction, the position includes the planning, coordination and direction of the Christmas music programs for these grade levels and availability to direct the school’s Liturgical Choir one morning a week and a monthly all-school liturgy.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Education
  • Valid Washington State Teacher Certification preferred
  • Successful prior experience teaching music to elementary students
  • Practicing Catholic preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Commitment to the mission of Villa Academy
  • Proficient in piano and other instruments
  • Have knowledge of Catholic liturgical music, as well as secular music
  • Nurture and develop these young students’ natural interest in and joyful appreciation of music
  • Exhibit enthusiasm for music and teaching
  • Knowledge and application of current instructional practices and strategies in music
  • Knowledge and application of effective student management practices
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Possess excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate and team with colleagues as part of a professional learning community
