Eastside Catholic School Announces Athletic Director Stacey Stoutt and Head Football Coach Dominic Daste Following Resignation of Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Jeremy Thielbahr

Sammamish, Wash., February 28, 2019 – Eastside Catholic School is pleased to announce that Stacey Stoutt has accepted our offer to continue in her role as acting athletic director for the current school year and will take the helm as our athletic
director effective July 1, 2019. She will continue to collaborate closely with

Jeremy Thielbahr over the next four months. Stoutt has been an instrumental part of the EC Athletic Department since 2010. Most recently, she served as the associate athletic director, managing all aspects of department operations from student accountability, to budgets and scheduling, to overseeing the marketing of all athletic teams while Thielbahr was on family leave. Stoutt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Santa Clara University.

President Picciotto stated, “Stacey is passionate about the athletic programs at EC and the impact this experience can have on the life of a student-athlete. We have great confidence in Stacey’s leadership, work ethic and commitment to Crusader athletics.”

Stoutt said, “I am honored to follow in the footsteps of Jeremy Thielbahr in this leadership role and to continue to build our athletic programs at Eastside Catholic. I believe that our student-athletes can accomplish remarkable things and know they perform at their highest level when students, families, school and community are all working together towards common goals. President Picciotto has a sharp vision for Eastside Catholic and recognizes the positive role athletics can play. I am grateful to him for this tremendous opportunity and his confidence in me and I am blessed to be part of the Eastside Catholic family.”

Eastside Catholic is also pleased to announce that Dominic Daste has accepted an offer to lead the Crusader football team as head football coach effective July 1, 2019. Picciotto said, “Dom joined the EC family in 2015 and is highly regarded by student-athletes and coaches alike.” Daste brings 15 years of college-level football coaching expertise to the Crusader program and has worked closely with Coach Thielbahr for the past three years in his role as Crusader offensive line coach. Daste holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington where he had the opportunity to play in four bowl games, including the 2001 Rose Bowl.

Daste offered, “I would like to thank President Picciotto for the distinct privilege of being the next head football coach at EC—I feel honored to be part of the Crusader family. I would also like to thank Coach Thielbahr for all he has done for me and my family. He has been a tremendous coach, friend and mentor. Eastside Catholic football will continue to be a highly competitive team. We will do this by playing hard, being physically and mentally tough on and off the field, while being gentlemen away from the field. I look forward to keeping the pride and tradition of Eastside Catholic at an elite level.”

Yesterday, Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Jeremy Thielbahr announced to his team and the EC community his decision to resign as athletic director and head football coach effective June 30, 2019.

EC President Gil Picciotto said, “Eastside Catholic School wishes our friend and colleague Jeremy Thielbahr all the best as he steps away from EC to tend to family matters. Thanks to his leadership as athletic director and head football coach over the last eight years, our student-athletes have achieved regional, state and national recognition, both on and off the field. Jeremy embodies the rallying cry of our student-athletes of ‘faith, family, finish, forever Eastside Catholic.’ We are grateful for his dedication and lasting contributions to our school.”

Regarding the future of EC athletics, President Picciotto said, “Our commitment to a great student and student-athlete experience will continue as we look forward and build upon the outstanding foundation in the Eastside Catholic Athletic Department.”
