“This is one of the largest number of students we’ve had selected for Junior All-State and it is the largest number of students we’ve had selected for All-Northwest. I’m very proud of the hard work that our band students have put in to be able to be recognized at this level,” Director of Bands Jonathan Boysen said. “Of any school in our area, Eastside Catholic had the most students selected for All-Northwest and the second most for the state of Washington. The current success of our band students holds great promise for the future of the EC band program!”
Junior All-State band members were selected as some of the top middle school instrumentalists in the state of Washington and All-Northwest band members were selected as some of the top high school instrumentalists in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, Montana and Wyoming. These band members submitted video performances to the Washington Music Educators Association and were selected by a screening committee. Recognized students will have the opportunity to participate in master classes with professionals on their instruments from around the world.
Students selected to the WIBC Honor Band were chosen after submitting recordings and joined students from 20 states and three countries in virtual performances February 20-21.
